Men's - League Restructure 14/08/2010
By -Sour As the season approaches, a statement has been released by the MPC (the body that manages men's lacrosse for the ELA) and the league saying that the proposed restructure of the league system will be going ahead. This restructure will bring all first teams into one ladder, with the A, Extra A, B and C teams in another. It's thought that this will encourage new clubs to appear by making their trip to the top shorter. What this means to The Knights is that we'll have to go to Hull again. Here's how the North Premier Leagues look at present: Premiership One (10 Teams) Stockport Heaton Mersey Cheadle Wilmslow Manchester Waconians Rochdale Timperley Brooklands Mellor Sheffield University Premiership Two (8 Teams) Nottingham Boardman & Eccles Sheffield Steelers Norbury Ashton-U-Lyne Cheadle Hulme Poynton Stopfordians Premiership Three (8 Teams) Leeds Oldham Liverpool Newcastle Heaton Mersey Guild Hull York Chester Few of the teams in Prem3 are an unknown quantity to us, and I think we stand a decent chance of putting in a few upsets....only 6 weeks to go!
