This Sunday sees this season’s first run out for the Lady Knights (aka Ladies) as they head to Liverpool (surprise, surprise) for the West London Tournament (actually a surprise). Having had their original first run-out against Lancaster postponed due to the weather, this is an opportunity for the Ladies to show what progress they’ve made since the summer’s Plate winning trip to Bluesfest.
Now under new management, the Ladies will be out to put down a marker prior to their expected league debut in 2011/12...

The drawback to this plan is the way the groups have panned out. The Ladies have been drawn in the same group as perennial powerhouse Stockport, Liverpool Uni, Mellor and “hosts” West London’s B squad. Not what I’d call the ideal first run-out in 6 months...

The other group contains the somewhat conspicuously names Leeds Penguins, current (as of 26 October) Northern League leaders Oxton, Liverpool, Welsh Dragons and West London’s A squad, with the top 2 from each group progressing to the semi-finals.

If you’re on that side of the country get yourself down there for games starting at 1100. We should have a full report on the tournament on nutlax.com next week.

In the mean time don't forget the Knights are playing Liverpool at home this Saturday 29 January, face-off at 1400.
