Apologies for the lateness, and the number of ridiculous phrases in the following piece, but it’s early in the season and I’m not into my stride yet... There is a phrase used regularly in lacrosse, “Ran out of legs”. I suppose it’s a nice way of expressing what happens when a team gets tired and loses the ability to run. As a bonus for anyone who wasn't playing yesterday and therefore didn't get this from the refs, here's a copy and paste from an email recieved from the Refs Society following on from their pre-season seminar last weekend. It's a run-down of what rules have been stressed as particularly important for the season ahead. So here we are the 2011-12 season and in NEMLA Premier 2 to boot. As such, we should be in for at the very least an interesting year going to new places (Mellor, Old Stops, Poynton and Nottingham) and not going to Hull. This year's Pre-Season NEMLA Refs Seminar takes place next sunday (18 September) at Manchester Wacs LC. It runs from 0930 until 1530, and is open to all panel and club referees. It's billed as a great refresher and update session - without food, so if you're going, take your own. Also a reminder about the Course on 9 October at Northumbria By - Sour
