Here's the weekly update on all things Premier 2, and some lightweight analysis of what the future may hold.
First things first....Nottingham's game at Stops was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Mellor topped Poynton 11-10. Again Mellor blow a big lead to nearly pick up a loss, although rumours of a controversially disallowed Poynton goal at the 10-10 followed by a length of the field break and score for Mellor seem to be spurious.
Newcastle battered Liverpool 19-6 to break their duck leaving only the Scouse and Stops (our next opponents) as the only teams yet to pick up a W this season.
Mellor top the table with Brooklands 2 points behind (but with a game in hand). Poynton follow, with Nottingham, Norbury and Newcastle ahead of the aforementioned win less teams.
With our heroic Knights on a bye-week next week, Brooklands take on Stops, Liverpool host Mellor and Norbury and Nottingham face off in Robin Hood country. Poynton are also on a rest.
Brooklands v Stops should give us the first real indication of where we sit in relation to our next opponents, whilst the other games might add a bit of sanity to a table littered with teams on different numbers of games.
