Running late, but reading great, here’s this week’s round up of comings, goings, results and postponements in NEMLA Premier 3. More after the jump....
First things first we shook off the weary road legs for the penultimate time this season and rolled Chester 1-11 (match report in the works already).
Leeds made the short hop to York and went plus seven on them to come out 4-11 winners. Oldham’s pitch was deemed unplayable after several people in the vicinity dropped dead due to lack of oxygen at that altitude. Either it was that or rain....I’ll leave it up to you.
This leaves the table looking something like this
1. Liverpool 7-1-14 (wins-losses-points)
2. Newcastle 6-2-12
3. Oldham 5-3-10
4. Leeds 4-4-8
5. York 3-6-6
6. Hull 3-5-6
7. Chester 1-8-2
So it’s all still to play for (in a strictly mathematical sense) with even Hull having enough games in the bank to overtake the Knights in second. Three wins from our remaining four games should be enough to see us promoted, but in this league, this season, nothing can be taken for granted.
Next weekend sees Chester (maybe) drive the whole length of the M62 to take on Hull, York (work permitting) host Oldham and the Knights (Hoo Rah) travel to the side that has been their nemesis since the entered the league Leeds.
All-in-all a cracking weekend of lacrosse lined up in Prem3 with interesting contests all over the show, and only one thing guaranteed....it’s not worth putting an accumulator on!
Previews, match reports and general musings from the Toon and beyond.
